About Kinesthetic Storytelling:
FirstPlay Kinesthetic Storytelling is an attachment-focused play therapy model that integrates the pioneering work of Viola Brody—creator of Developmental Play Therapy, which emphasizes the healing power of play and nurturing touch—with Ericksonian-style metaphorical storytelling. This modality aims to strengthen the parent-child bond through interactive, sensory-rich storytelling.
Sometimes referred to as "Back Stories," hands-on method supports emotional connection, regulation, and secure attachment in a deeply meaningful way.

More about This Service
How It Works
During FirstPlay, practitioners teach, direct, and supervise parents how to draw and tell therapeutic stories on their children's backs. In FirstPlay sessions, practitioners demonstrate the Storytelling movements on the back of a large stuffed animal while the parents simultaneously practice the techniques on their children's back.
What to Expect
This play therapy model enhances parent and child bonding and attachments through the avenue of respectful and caring touch.
