Experiential Therapy

Therapy Modality

About Experiential Therapy:

Experiential therapy helps clients move beyond just talking about emotions to more fully experiencing, understanding, and processing them in the moment. It supports deeper emotional awareness, authenticity, and meaningful change through reflection, emotional exploration, and relational experiences in session.

Additionally, this therapy can help clients identify patterns that may leave them feeling emotionally stuck, disconnected, or avoidant, or that make it difficult for them to express themselves. Experiential therapy can also support healthy relationships by improving emotional communication, vulnerability, and connection.

Recommended For:

  • People who feel emotionally disconnected, stuck, or unsure how to express emotions.

  • Couples wanting deeper emotional connection, vulnerability, or improved communication.

  • People who struggle with emotionally processing problems or creating change.

  • People navigating grief, identify shifts, or unresolved emotional experiences.

  • And more

More about This Service

How Therapy is Administered

Experiential therapy is offered in both solo and couples therapy sessions at our St. George, UT office. It is frequently integrated with other therapeutic approaches. Both short-term and ongoing therapy can be beneficial depending on a client's specific needs. Accordingly, frequency and duration of appointments will be determined on a case-by-case basis after the initial appointment.

Can't make it to our office or prefer to connect from home? This service is also available through our easy-to-use Telehealth portal. Contact us for details!

What to Expect

While every session is different, here are a few common themes:

  • Care may focus on slowing down emotional experiences & exploring what lies underneath. Therapists may gently invite reflection on emotions, body sensations, relational patterns, etc.

  • Therapists and clients will work towards understanding and emotionally engaging problems in a meaningful way.

  • Care is focused around curiosity, compassion, reflection, emotional processing, support, and collaboration.
