Biography
Collin Hooper is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Red Sands Psychiatry, Restorative Therapy, & Counseling. Grounded in a strengths-based, relational framework, she specializes in helping clients navigate major life transitions, explore identity, and find pathways through periods of feeling stuck or overwhelmed. Collin views therapy through a strong social justice and trauma-informed lens, taking intentional care to provide a space that feels safe, attuned, and truly affirming.
Throughout her care, Collin employs a repertoire of evidence-based modalities like Brainspotting, Emotionally Focused Therapy, and Acceptance & Commitment Therapy to address each client’s unique needs.
Collin attended the University of Central Arkansas, graduating summa cum laude and as a Presidential Scholar with a Bachelor of Science in Addiction Studies. She then completed her graduate studies at the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Social Work, specializing in Clinical Mental Health.
Before working as a therapist, Collin founded a farm-to-table business in Arkansas. This chapter of her life gave her a firsthand appreciation for the unique challenges and rewards of entrepreneurship. Today, that experience directly informs her clinical practice. She is especially drawn to supporting business owners, high achievers, and professionals navigating the high-stakes triad of pressure, burnout, and purpose.
Collin’s personal path has also been instrumental in shaping her clinical lens. Raised in a conservative Southern Baptist community in Central Arkansas, she later navigated her own coming-out process while building a life and expanding two businesses alongside her partner. These experiences allow her to show up for her clients with authenticity, empathy, and an unwavering commitment to providing affirming, inclusive care.
Something that fascinates Collin about mental health is the ways our life experiences leave imprints and shape how we connect, protect, and live each day.
Collin is vibrant, thoughtful, and kind. As a provider, you can count on her to show up each session as a real person: engaged, approachable, and deeply attuned. She knows that healing happens through genuine human connection and works to build trust and bonds with each of her clients by weaving in laughter, movement, and wellness practices throughout each session. Her style is slightly eclectic, but is always grounded in being present for each client, helping them feel seen and supported as they grow and improve.
Outside of the office, Collin loves finding little ways to connect with her community. To recharge, you can find her cooking, reading, or a personal favorite… thrifting! She also loves spending time outdoors hiking and biking, caring for her plants (be sure to say hi to Thor in her office), and relaxing with her cats. Always game for trying new things, Collin strives to live a life full of intention, connection, and purpose.
A favorite quote of hers comes from a scene in Season 3 of the series "Shrinking". It is part of a dialogue between the characters Dr. Paul Rhoades (played by Harrison Ford) and Jimmy Laird (played by Jason Segel).
Rhoades: “Letting go of the past just means you don’t allow your scars to hold you back anymore.”
Laird: “I’m covered in them.”
Rhoades: “Good! What a shame to be 42 years old and not completely covered in scars, they’re the evidence of a life fully lived…
Either stay stuck, or go make some new scars.”
