Biography

Heidi Roulstone is a Clinical Social Worker (CSW) at Red Sands Psychiatry Restorative Therapy & Counseling. She specializes in Child-Centered Play Therapy (CCPT) with an emphasis on anxiety, depression management, and parent/child/family relationships. She utilizes a strengths-based approach and solutions-focused therapy (SFT).

Heidi attended Utah Valley University, where she earned a Bachelor of Science with an emphasis in Social Work. She completed her Master of Social Work (MSW) at the University of Utah. Currently, in early 2025, she is working toward both RPT (Registered Play Therapy) and LCSW (Licensed Clinical Social Worker) licensure.

Before transitioning to the mental health field, Heidi worked as a nurse, but pretty quickly realized she didn't have the stomach for blood, guts, and viscera! Always drawn to "helping" professions, she pivoted towards child therapy, where she found her passion in helping kids develop the tools, skills, and confidence to manage their emotions and achieve their goals.

Something that fascinates Heidi about mental health is how different we each are and how learning about ourselves and applying what we know can change us for the better. She firmly believes our differing backgrounds, beliefs, personalities, resiliencies, etc., can be tapped into to help us overcome hardships and heal; something she hopes to help each of her clients discover.

As a provider, Heidi believes that building trust and a relationship with every client is key. She focuses on making you feel seen, heard, and important, while being an ally in your corner every step of the way.

Heidi is empathetic, affable, and encouraging. She strives to help every client see that they are not defined by their disorder; her goal is to guide them in accepting it, learning to manage it, and ensuring it doesn't negatively impact their lives. Heidi believes that if someone leans into their strengths, values, and abilities, they can find healing—and even help others along the way.

Outside of the office, Heidi can often be found stuck in a good book or on a spontaneous adventure. She loves hiking, road trips, listening to and discovering new music, and seeking fun, wherever it might be found, with her friends and family.

Her favorite quote is:

"The two most important days in your life are the day you are born and the day you find out why".

 -Mark Twain-
