CBT

(Cognitive Behavioral Therapy)

About CBT:

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a structured, goal-oriented therapy that helps identify and change unhelpful thought patterns, emotional responses, and behaviors. CBT helps clients build practical skills to manage a litany of mental health concerns, such as: anxiety, depression, stress, overwhelming thoughts, perfectionism, self- criticism, emotional reactivity, etc.

In sessions, therapists will help clients look at how their thoughts, behaviors, emotions, and life experiences interact. Clients will also learn actionable skills, strategies, and practical tools to regulate their emotions, communicate clearly, solve day-to-day problems, and build confidence.

Recommended For:

  • People feeling overwhelmed by anxiety, stress, worry, or racing thoughts.

  • People experiencing depression, low motivation, hopelessness, or negative self-talk.

  • People struggling with perfectionism, people-pleasing behaviors, or self-criticism.

  • People feeling emotionally overwhelmed or stuck in unhelpful patterns.

  • People seeking practical tools for emotional regulation, effective communication, coping with life transitions, or building confidence.

More about This Service

How it Works

CBT is highly collaborative and tailored to a client’s unique goals. While typically an individualized therapy, it can also be incredibly effective for couples and families.

After an initial session, we will work with clients to set the length and frequency of visits based on their specific needs. Because real growth happens outside the therapy room, sessions often include practical skills to practice between appointments.

Sessions are available in person at our St. George office and via Telehealth if you prefer to connect remotely. Contact us for details!

What to Expect

At Red Sands, we always focus on providing structured, collaborative care.

During sessions, providers may gently challenge unhelpful thought patterns and help clients examine alternative perspectives. Expect a balance of reflection and skill-building during therapy, plus an opportunity to apply insights between sessions. Over time, this active process helps clients experience steadier moods, increased confidence, and a greater sense of control in their lives.
