Biography
Maylin Worlton is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) at Red Sands Psychiatry, Restorative Therapy, & Counseling. She specializes in providing support for anxiety, trauma, neurodiversity (especially autism & ADHD), and parenting guidance. She utilizes a diverse blend of therapeutic modalities tailored to each client, including EMDR, IFS, Mindfulness, CBT, DBT, and TFCBT.
Maylin attended Utah Valley University, where she earned both her Bachelor’s and Master's degrees in Social Work. While her time in higher education solidified a deep, permanent love for studying the brain and human behavior, her path to the mental health field began much earlier. Maylin grew up in a family facing a variety of mental health challenges. During these formative years, she saw firsthand just how impactful the right therapist can be for an entire family. Those experiences, combined with her love of learning, shape how she practices today. As part of the Red Sands team, clients throughout Southern Utah and Nevada can work alongside her to find balance, resilience, and well-being.
Maylin is absolutely fascinated by the inner workings of the brain. She loves to teach and help clients understand how it functions so they can separate their identity from their struggles. As a provider, she aims to cultivate confidence within each individual, empowering her clients to build the lives they truly want to live.
Her style of care is direct, yet gentle and understanding. As a therapist, Maylin works hard to keep therapy focused and goal-oriented. She loves teaching her clients practical skills and finds deep satisfaction in witnessing them meet and surpass their personal milestones. Ultimately, as a mental health provider, she hopes to be a trusted resource for overwhelmed parents wanting to better their relationship with their children.
Outside of the office, you’ll most likely find her at the nearest beach, lake, river, or pool. She loves all things water, including kayaking, swimming, paddleboarding, or just soaking up some sun. Maylin is married with two children and loves to recharge by spending time outdoors with her family.
Her favorite quote is from Irvin Yalom:
“Therapy is a way to find the courage to face your fears and the way to live a more fulfilling life.”
